My style of photography has always been true to real life. I aim to portray what the scene actually looks like as best as possible. Grittiness and imperfections are things I hold in high regard as they tell more of a true story then trying to make things ‘picture perfect’. (See what I did there?)
People and Pets
Catching people in the moment is always fun. I find photographing people much easier for both parties when they don’t feel like they are participating in a photoshoot. Forcing a smile and looking directly at the camera isn’t what I’m looking for in people photography.
Since I was a child photographing cars has been a passion of mine, so naturally this spearheads my passion in adulthood. Being an automotive enthusiast myself and running an Automotive Photography website continues to develop my skills at photographing these silly, yet wonderful machines.
With cars comes racing, or in the case of my interests, drifting. Drifting is a spectator sport as much as it is a driver sport. Being flashy, making smoke, and looking awesome is the name of the game. Working with slower shutter speeds I like to catch the action in photography rather than having everything frozen in time.
Products and Food
With my current design job I ended up being pulled into being our unofficial photographer as well. I now have new subject matter and continue to push my skills into other areas of photography. Luckily my style of gritty realism works with our branding as I still have lots to learn about hardcore product photography. (Shot to be flawless).
